2012

All i can say about 2012 looks is just pulls. pulls were seem everywhere. on the clothing on the models face and hair and even on the models back and neck. Chanel 2012 is one one of my favorite looks. the garments are also very elegant.

This Chanel 2012 couture look is very different from the ready to wear look. the look is more edgy with a Mohican messy hair do with a big farcineter on the side.

Shooting editorial look 2 of the first

this is another one of my editorial practice shoots that i did in order to be able to decide on what look look to use for my editorial. i love how innocent yet strong the model looks in the this look. i fill the look is very strong and bold without having to add lot to it

Compereing the two looks side by side

Its very herd for me to chose one look, because i fill that they are both very good and strong. however because i would like my editorial look to look natural yet strong, i fill that its best to go with the fast look the one with the a black model.

I will now need to reshoot the look but this time make the lips more brighter by using a different type of lip stick. Also i will try i will change the background to a different colour as well. Most likely a colour that is less bright.

Chanel advertisement.

over the yours Chanel have come out with different type of advertisements, some that just include there products (makeup) and some that have both the model and the makeup.

Advertisements with just the product on them:

The above are just a few of the Chanel adverts that just has product in them. This adverts call all attention to the product being advertised. this king of advertising is very simple and straight to the point, however am not sure if its is as affective as having a face next to it.

The other way is by having a model all a known face next to the product.

This method of advertising i fill is more affective  because it shows the consumer what the product looks like on and also give an elusion of the  what the product will make the consumer fill like. for example the perfume adverts are very sensual at the same time portrays elegance and sophistication. well the makeup advert show off what the product looks like on and therefore make the consumer wont it in order to look like the model fettered.

Another method of advertising that Chanel use is by creating short films that tell a story
The above Chanel advert is very sexual yet mysterious. It potteries the power a woman has when wearing Chanel perfume and also how the Chanel woman is edgy and independent and is to long for.

For my Chanel adverts i would like to have both the models face and the product that is bing advertised, because i fill that is will be more affective and also will allow me to showcase my makeup skills.
I am looking at using two models for one of the advertisement which will be a day look and to use a completely different model for the evening look advertisement.

One of the thinks that i would love to do use models of different background.

Chanel 2016 Cutwork

The face of Chanel 2016

For this spring summer cutwork makeup look Chanel allowed for some bold yet simple makeup look. The main focus was on the bold blue mask style shadow. The rest of the makeup was kept simple and clean. Looking at the overall look, it looks like the models were wearing sunglasses which in truth some were. This bold yet simple look captured the theme that Chanel has and also complimented the clothing.

The show opens with Edie Campbell wearing coloured jumpsuit with silver saddles and headband. some of the looks seem also featured baseball caps and bold mirrored  aviator sunglasses.

There was also a mixture of flowing dresses and loose casual were as well as well dressed ladies with sharp tailored suits.

The looks are edgy and cool, as a makeup artist, the makeup looks are easy to recreate and  definitely  achievable. Because this look is bold only a few people would dare to wear it on a normal day, however saying that is a perfect look for when one is going to a festival.

Recreating the Chanel makeup look.

The first look have recreated the look that the is seen in the Chanel cutwork look. i have used the supper colour palette gone in with sleek blue eye-shadow.

For the second look i have chosen to use both blue and pink from the supper colour palette. the look is inspired by one of the Chanel editorial looks. am going to use the two colours found in the outfit and have one side of the eye blue and the other side pink.

For the final look i will keep it simple but bold, just like the fist look i will copy the Cutwork look done for the Cutwork look but instead of using blue i will used black. i also added blue lips to keep with the blue theme seen some of the Chanel clothing (spring/summer look)

Evaluation

looking at all three looks i must say that i like them. the looks are simple and thy replaced well on the Chanel cutwork look. with the fist look i fill that i was able to recreate the exact look as seen in the cutwork. the look is clean and there is no bleeding of the colour. just like in the cutwork look the blue is strong and bold well everything else in the face is kept simple.
the second look i fill was good to. however looking at it again the colours though complimenting they are not the exact colours as seen in the outfit. The pink in the cloth is more vibrant and bolder.

Willow Smiths makeup and hair

looking at the image of Miss Smith, one thing that stands out the most is not her super hero looking outfit but her blue eye liner and her shot locks. the blue is a good reflection of the spring summer colours. the blue also compliment her skin tone very well. the hair is a great representation of who she is. Miss Smith is know for her free and unique fashion choices and i fill that her hair shows of that side of her.

Creating this look.

Today i decided to recreate the blue eye liner look seen in willow smith.

To create this look i just used the blue in the supper colour palette. i used the thin angle brash to apply and then set it using blue powered eye shadow. For the lips i kept it simple, i used a pink lip stain then went over it with Vaseline

Evaluation
I really like the look i recreated, i fill that the blue is bold and compliments my skin tone well. The simple pink lips douse not take the attention away from the eyes. however when i compere it to the look that miss smith has, i realised that the blue i used was a different shade than that she is wearing. her shade of blue is deeper, were mine is lighter. also her liner is thicker and bolder.

i decided to try and recreate the look again using a more deeper blue, and here is the end results
